F.A. HOUSE
Oliveira de Azeméis, Portugal
The house is located on a nearly rectangular plot of land measuring approximately 35 m wide by around 50 m long, with a slightly oblique slope at the northwest end, bordering the access road, which provides access to the land. The land slopes gently in a transverse direction, northeast/southwest, with the slope only slightly steeper near the southwest boundary.
The house is built on a single floor, and access for pedestrians and vehicles, is from the northwest, through two parallel but distinct paths, one leading to the entrance and the other giving access to the garage, allowing parking outside.
The house develops parallel to the northeast, forming almost a “T”.
The central entrance hall strategically distributes the entire house. The door gives access to the garage, pantry, laundry room and technical area, forming a body further to the northeast. Also from the entrance hall, you can access the kitchen and common room, with the kitchen being able to open up to the living room, through sliding doors. The living room and kitchen essentially open to the southeast, onto the covered outdoor patio, which allows the creation of a living/dining area supported by the barbecue.
In the southeast section (parallel to the smaller side) are the three bedrooms, all of which open to the southeast, thus enjoying the morning sun. The master bedroom, located at the southernmost top of the body, also has an opening to the northwest over the garden and pool. The two baths in this section separate and provide privacy to the three bedrooms, and also have private gardens that allow the bathrooms to be lit and ventilated in a private manner.
The project sought to create privacy in the bedroom area and its surroundings, privacy and visual isolation in the laundry service yard, and sought to create a strong relationship with the outside in the social areas, with the patios and swimming pool, thus allowing the entire complex to create differentiated living areas.
