Apartment Building in San Sebastian
Donostia-San Sebastian, Spain
The building is located in the heart of the Ensanche Romántico area in San Sebastian, where its elegant buildings with sumptuous accesses formerly housed the most regal homes in the city.
Although the original façade is maintained, the interior of the building has been completely remodelled to contain housing types and surfaces adapted to our times and oriented to rental.
The new design nods to the original classicism of the building, emphasizing the use of noble materials and adorning the spaces with numerous details.
The original colourimetry of the common spaces, with green as the protagonist, is recovered as the common thread through the different stairs, landings, and patios.
References to the past coexist with contemporary layouts, where open kitchens inhabit the open-plan living areas, and the toilets are integrated into the bedrooms like a hotel suite.
