The choice of architect was not on - customers, long friends with Sergei Makhno, because no pondered who to seek to draft future home. The home willingly supported the idea and Sergey decided on a bold experiment.
Sergei offered to play on the contrast. Contrast was one of the main themes of design. Powerful and fragile form, heavy and light elements, black clinker brick and light concrete panels textured and smooth surfaces. In this project important internal and external interaction. The distinction between them is erased through large-scale glazing guest area and the master bedroom on the second floor. We set ourselves the task as much as possible to let nature into the interior and even leveraging its exterior. On the facade you can see a decorative wall with natural oak barrels, creating a dynamic contrast with deep dark tone of the major surfaces. We managed to do that and conceived to come to the unity of two opposites - strict architectural lines and natural elements.
After the courtyard, you'll see a lot of open space, a comfortable terrace and species of the building, filled with light and air. Nearby there is a functional extension which incorporates a seating area, barbecue area, canopy for cars and utility room. The interior is restrained and simple. However, there are many practical solutions, imperceptible at first. They will please owners during operation.
Equally important detail - the fireplace, because it plays a role not only decorative, but also heats the entire first floor. Guest of the building represented a functional area that combines the kitchen with island, dining room, living room and large library height of about 6 meters. Almost all the furniture is made to order for the Ukrainian masters sketches workshop.
