CitizenM has opened its first hotel in Miami of a series of 3. The hotel is located in Miami Brickell, a small neighbourhood that functions as a shopping and business district, so it fits perfectly with the lifestyle of the mobile citizen. The new citizenM hotel emphasizes the variety in the neighbourhood, it is located in a lively area, within walking distance of the nearby shopping malls.
Art is an important part of the DNA of Miami as well as citizenM. Miami is one of the art capitals of the US, following NY and LA. During the year there are different art fairs in the city. CitizenM wants to celebrate this together. citizenM Miami Brickell functions as a business hotel but aims to position itself as an art hotel. The architecture is considered as a 3D art piece with large colorful Murals by Jen Stark on every side of the building, by this the building is recognizable among all the other buildings. Every side of the building shows its huge art works. By using twisted boxes, you can experience the art from all sides.
On the ground floor is the entrance which also functions as an art gallery. In the flexible gallery space, the art will change over time, to show guests new work. The art pieces on the wall are from local artists.
Concrete designed the bar, sofa and carpet, inspired by the purple and pink colors of the sunsets of Miami. With the elevator, located at the end of the first floor, guests enter the hotel lobby on the second floor, and the business center on the 3rd floor, called SocietyM. It’s a meeting point for people that mix business and fun, and is equipped with large meeting rooms. The upper floors are destined for the typical rooms of citizenM.
The concept design of the architecture and interior is designed by concrete and executed by the Miami team of Gensler. The design of the building has lots of glass and a large balcony that faces the street, connecting inside and outside to celebrate the nice weather of Miami.
citizenM Miami Brickell is the first citizenM that introduces a pool to the hotel, with views over the Bay area of Miami. After a long working day, guests can cool down and have a nice swim, or relax and lay down on the soft seats in the evening.
