District 22 @, also known as 22 @ Barcelona or 22 @, arises the year 2000 as an initiative of the Barcelona City Council to transform 200 hectares of industrial land in the Poblenou district into an innovative productive district with modern spaces for the strategic concentration of activities intensive in knowledge.
I was at 22@ and I saw the rapid growth of this area and the activities that are being developed here, give us the opportunity to propose the following. The main idea is to create a public facility open to the community, a meeting and knowledge space, and recover the traditional Passages.
In front of the well-known Poblenou central park located on Diagonal Street, there is still an industrial space, which in a period of no more than 10 years we can turn into an innovative nucleus for startups open to the community to generate collective work giving greater support to local startups and citizens with entrepreneurship initiatives.
I propose to incorporate the concept of the traditional PASSAGES in the architectural design, that allow the interaction of the users and the possibility of inhabiting the neighborhood without physical restrictions, crossing it, walking with fluidity and sharing experiences among users.
Inspired by the fruits of the Parc Guell pine tree, in my visit to Barcelona city, the design starts from a hexagonal circle whose free floor generates 12 collective or coworking work spaces, which have an oval shape like the layers of the pine tree fruits (pine cones).
these spaces are located around the circle positioned every 60 degrees and contemplating two levels for each position, which can be accessed by an imposing ramp that ascends in a circular way to the last level. Between one level and another there are intermediate spaces for urban gardens that integrate vegetation even more in the design.
On the ground floor there is a hexagonal circle garden and a network of Passages that can be occupied by both passers-by and those who inhabit it. Becoming an open square that is communicated with the rest of the urban area of 22 @ Barcelona
