Dalian Football Youth Training Center is located in Ganjingzi District with a total area of 22 hectares. The total construction area is 88,500 m2 and the total investment reaches 2 billion yuan. It is a super large training center that can satisfy demands of 600 athletes and coaches of 18 teams including the first team, the reserve team, the youth team, the junior team and women’s team. The project integrates training court, playing filed, club office building, athletes’ apartment and supporting facilities, etc. The training court has 23 pitches that all meet the standard of FIFA. Some courts are open to the public, welcoming citizens to enjoy the quality football playing fields. The football playing filed can accommodate 5000 people and has perfect supporting facilities, such as world-class heated lawn, locker room, indoor warm-up area and media office, etc. The club office building features a press conference hall with seats and tables for 300 people, honors rooms, conference rooms, standard swimming pool and medical rehabilitation rooms, etc. Each team has their own apartments that are built according to 5A-hotel standards, with facilities including gym, swimming pool, discussion rooms and leisure areas.
Based on a new understanding of the New Sports City district, the project integrates form and function in a succinct way, which echoes the architectural style of sports center and the site location. Horizontal composition applied into the whole design makes the architecture smooth and coherent, showing the characteristics of football. The materials and details of the design are in a good match. The facade of the first floor is made of stone, the upper part of the building is clad in pale stone-like finishes and the roof is covered by gray horizontal metal sheets. Materials like stone, glass and wood-like aluminium panel make the building not only vibrant and bright, but also warm and comfortable. Indoor training hall has a simple yet magnificent roof, which coordinates the whole planning of building complex. Alongside the urban road, utility buildings are arranged for sports clubs. The integration of different functional massings makes the linear architecture act as an organic part of the complex.
Having been put into use in December, 2019, the training center would improve the strength of Dalian football industry. Teenagers are the backbone to promote the development of Dalian football. The whole complex serves as an important part of the New Sports City, contributing to the development of Dalian football and public sports activities.
