DFS Group approached SAY Studio to design a new office for their team at a warehouse space in the ADAFZ Logistics Park. DFS sought to create a fresh, open plan, modern workspace with room to expand support functions as the business grows.
The eye-catching entrance to DFS Group’s offices sets the scene with a bold first impression. A simple, red portal frames the arrival and sits proudly at the entrance of the warehouse’s corrugated façade. DFS simply can’t be missed. Once inside, the refined, rich reception welcomes visitors and staff.
The office provides enough room for a variety of projects from ticketing, e-commerce, marketing, finance and video production. Because of the space’s nature as a warehouse, cement, metal, and glass abound and give the office an industrial feel. The building has been designed to have a bold, contemporary, industrial feel, through exposed surfaces, stripped floors and walls, pendant style lighting and exposed metal conduits.
The desks are arranged in an open plan, but in such a way as to limit distracting foot traffic. The circulation encourages people to walk around each other — not through — to not only reduce interruptions but allow for areas of the office to be a place of random interaction, while workstations are kept more private.
To foster collaboration, the warehouse spaces have been designed as a group of zones across the floor plate to enable staff to interact, focus and breakout. Alternative work areas include several standup meeting tables, couch space, and several private meeting rooms.
