The flat with high ceilings in a building from the early 20th century in a peaceful area of Opava.
The generous common area, “salon” with the kitchen, is oriented towards the street. The owner – doctor – possesses a large number of books, and therefore he desired a bookcase big enough to accommodate them all. The bookcase fills the whole six-metre-long wall. Three rooms – bedrooms – are south-oriented towards the courtyard.
The prominent feature of the interior is a timber floor. The fitted furniture made of MDF creates a neutral white background. Colours are added with paintings on the walls, books, flowers and people. The dining, coffee and bedside tables and the bed are made of oak and designed specifically for this flat. Washable wall surfaces in the kitchen, bathroom and toilet are made of grey polished concrete trowel-on coating.
