A new interpretation of the housing system at Harvard University. This proposal for an undergraduate housing facility takes into consideration the consistently used courtyard typology as well as the dynamic undergraduate curriculum introduced to the university in 2009. The rigidity of a courtyard building is carved away by inserting programs at the ground level that cross this boundary in an urban setting. Circulation also acts as an instigator for variation vertically and horizontally across the site, while views and adjacencies act as less obtrusive and more experiential connections.
