The brief at hand was to create classic European luxury interiors with high end finishes. We drew inspiration from classical buildings and used elements from this style of classical architecture to incorporate in to the interior design. Each room was meticulously planned to ensure that all the internal elements tie in with the original design concept ensuring design and sourcing of furniture suit the clients taste, comfort and budget. Each element were designed to exclusivity and custom made to suit the existing building shell.
Even though it sounded logical to introduce South India’s vibrant colours and rich heritage, the European concept meant all pre conceived ideas were discarded and design began on a clean slate. Each floor was distinct in design yet woven together with a common theme. The staircase with the Venetian wall finish is one of the highlights of the house. The walls glisten from the light of the chandelier at night and create an interesting connection space.
The lack of abundant external landscape area lent itself to create an indoor garden with a view to the outside waterfall on the first floor where the family can convene to reflect on the day. A fully wood panelled study acts as a connecting link from the hallway to the master bedroom that is tucked away on the first floor. A fully equipped home theatre complete with all sound acoustic treatment creates an inclusive cinema experience. The space, lit from various light sources also has cinema related graphic artwork integrated on to the fabric of the interior walls.
