Earl Shapiro Hall was the first building in a Master Plan expansion and renovation project of the Laboratory Schools campus. Located on an independent site from the rest of the campus, the building has all of the programmatic elements of a freestanding school. In addition to classrooms, art and music rooms, library and a gymnasium, there are full administrative and counseling offices, food service, and learning labs. Outdoor courtyards and learning labs sit adjacent to the classrooms, which are are designed to be flexible in support of the pedagogies of Reggio Emilia and John Dewey on which the school is based.
