KIOSK café, situated in the Barkyard, a community space in the heart of Bangkok, had faced us with an interesting challenge where the old and the new find a way to co-exist and combine into something altogether different and unusual. The Barkyard is a space designed for the community of dog owners and their dogs. The campus consists of shops, a pool (designated for dogs), different facilities such as a dog grooming station, and last but not least – KIOSK, which has taken it upon itself to satisfy the gastronomic needs of the guests.
The house which was to become KIOSK, an original structure from the 1950’s, once belonged to the current owner’s grandmother who had lived her entire life in it and had a lot of authenticity and rawness of its own.
