Situated on the heights of Romainville, this 1960s house is surrounded by vegetation.
We wanted to give it a strong link to the outside world, and particularly to the surrounding trees. The austere house now benefits from open facades that let in light and vegetation. The interior is brought to life by the exterior.
The second floor is home to everyday spaces, giving the feeling of being suspended in an enveloping wooded landscape.
Spaces are generous because they have been opened up, allowing you to take full advantage of the house's through-ventilation aspect. This makes it comfortable on summer days, thanks to an efficient cross-ventilation principle.
To guarantee comfort in both winter and summer, all the exterior joinery has been upgraded, the facades insulated, and the roof raised.
Antoine enjoys a children's bedroom adjoining the terrace, making it easy for him to play both indoors and out, and giving him simple access to the garden, while Paul and Barbara enjoy the privacy of the top floor, thanks to a suite comprising a bathroom, dressing room, study area and bedroom opening onto a beautiful view. All rooms are naturally lit, even the bathroom. The furnishings bring life and elegance to the room, thanks to touches of color and the warm, minimalist spirit of Barbara, who grew up in Sweden.
