Each building in the Lynn Financial Center featuresmany “green” design elements that are beneficialto its occupants and to our natural environment. Anunderground reservoir collects and stores rainwaterfrom the building’s roof to be used for irrigation.Native plant species requiring less water have beenselected as well as water-conserving plumbing fixtures.Altogether, this will reduce the project’s consumptionof potable water. The LFC buildings are highlyenergy efficient. Mechanical systems are finely tunedduring building commissioning to ensure that they areoperating at optimum levels. Assisting the mechanicalare engineered metal solar screens, high-performanceglass, and reflective roofing to filter and reflect theSouth Florida sunlight and reduce “heat island” effectand cooling loads. The buildings will provide showersand changing rooms to occupants who choosebicycles instead of cars for their daily commute. Forthose driving approved low-emitting and fuel efficientvehicles, twenty-six (26) preferred parking spaces areprovided.
