The original building of the project TRIBOX is located on the street St-Vallier in the neighbourhood of Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie in Montreal. Loads of interventions took place in this building the past years, and a renovation of the envelope and a complete interior redesign were necessary. The young family, owners of the building, live on the groundfloor and basement. The second and third floors were transformed into four identical dwellings. The living spaces are situated on the back of the dwelling, allowing the bedrooms to be on the front, and the technical spaces in the center. The space is maximized and functonial. All of the exterior finishing is made of wood, as a shell it is protecting the intimacy of the residents. An ecological awareness is present in all of the project, not only by using some recovered elements but also by employing passive solar strategies. The project has a real desire to work with a number of solutions and strategies, which are set to maximize the space and the envelope. The aim is to create a comfortable way of life, functional for its inhabitants and with an ecological calling.
