The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts is one of the Midwest’s premier theater venues. To make the building more iconic, a concept was developed that revolved around bathing the exterior facade in washes of colored light. This light shifts in color and pattern, creating a work of kinetic art on the building. The strong building designed by architect Harry Weiss and the sensitive colors that are found within local artist Georgia O’Keefe’s work inspired the designs that paint the building with light. The art of performance that fills the inside of the Marcus Center is mirrored in creativity on the outside of the building.
