Working with the Owners from conception to completion on their first new-construction retail store, our goal was to design a physical environment embodying the Mayorga's commitment to quality, integrity, and sustainability. High-efficiency energy, water, and waste systems combined with bold colors, rich FSC-certified walnut, and recycled-content zinc to form the brand's new architectural identity. A gallery space to support emerging local artists and a graphic display showcasing the company's humanitarian initiatives in Nicaragua successfully educate each customer on the brand's unique mission of environmental, economic, and civic responsibility. In 2011, Mayorga Coffee was named one of the 50 Fastest Growing Companies by the Washington Business Journal.
