McCann's new workplace at 510 Marquette in the heart of downtown Minneapolis offers a powerful urban space with coffered ceilings, city views, a penthouse and roof deck space. All systems were to be reinserted without obscuring the power of the original structure. The transformed workplace will create a fluid work environment in which collaboration is evident in its many forms. The space was conceived with the idea of fluidity, and the diffuse vaporous light quality evident in the raw space. White-washed masonry walls and concrete floors are complemented with the use of glass, pale soaped oak and a light diffusing brushed stainless steel. The design becomes a powerful yet restrained frame for the agency’s energy and creative production.
