The Museum of Ice Cream has created their flagship immersive art space in New York City. This project is a 24,000 square foot gut renovation of a 120 year old building on Broadway in the center of SoHo, a dynamic public space with café, retail, and bar, and 7 individual exhibition spaces that comprise the ticketed museum experience, geared toward adventurous sweet tooths. The Museum is inspired to create places of personal connection over shared commonalities and the universal love of ice cream. Within the confines of an existing historical building, the museum visitor is drawn through the entire building on all three levels, to extend the experience and create a sense of getting lost in this immersive world. The design creates special experiential moments built around elements like a three story slide for museum visitors, a giant physical experience called the sprinkle pool, a replica NYC subway car, and numerous other special exhibit spaces with custom interactives and fabrications.
