HED was brought on to design the second and final building on NTT’s Itasca II campus. The building features 36 MW of IT power in six 6MW data halls and incorporates off-site fabricated modular electrical enclosures in the yard. Its mechanical system utilizes roof-mounted, air-cooled chillers, and the facility is LEED Certified by the USGBC. Designed with sustainability in mind, the landscape uses native plants and grasses that don’t require irrigation. To ensure both durability and efficiency, the envelope is made of pre-cast concrete with a steel structure. As the second and final building on NTT’s Itasca II campus, CH-2 is a prototype development to house 26 MW of IT power in six 6MW data halls.
