A complex of apartments forming part of the Olympic Village operation
for the 1992 Games and consisting of two linear buildings with a tower
at their point of intersection. The ground floor is occupied by shops on
the outer streetward side, with south-facing private gardens in the
interior of the block, corresponding to the first-floor apartments,
reached by stairs. The south façade has been set back in order to obtain
better views and increase as far as possible the separation between
blocks, which the general plan for the Olympic Village established at 13
m (43’). The tower presents a central vertical circulation core and two
apartments on each floor. The apartments in the linear blocks have
vertical circulation and service spaces at their geometrical centre,
thus separating the north-facing nighttime area form the south-facing
daytime area.
