Even while located right in the middle of Tokyo, Park Court Jingu Kitasando The Tower will stand among three of the most lushly green spaces in Tokyo—Meiji Shrine, its outer gardens as well as the Shinjuku Imperial Garden.
The location provides tremendous freedom as it has great access to the JR Yamanote and Tokyo Metro subway lines which is at the heart of the city’s transportation network.
This district will become a node where urban functionality of heavy foot and road traffic intersects with the lush green spaces where birds and butterflies can stretch their wings.
This project interweaves organic vitality with versatile urban connections brought about by the unique location to realize a comfortable architectural NEST.
This design creates a woven exterior further accentuating the delicate soft curved geometries throughout the entire building. The eastern facade has a regular, linear shape, which creates a sharp expression that is rich with a variety of appearances, depending on the angle of view.
The landscape design is also leveraging elevation differences to transform the scenery and greenery which gives the building façade an ever-changing appearance every time one passes by. All can delight in a view that entwines the gardens, roads, water, and other distinct elements of Kitasando.
In addition to this, the roadside storefront will greatly expand the vibrancy of the intersection while the sidewalk rhythmically lined with gardens will cultivate a calming park-like environment.
Park Court Jingu Kitasando The Tower features an entryway to the entrance lounge where the three dimensional weaving of the walls and floors creates a beautiful space that sculpts the atrium into a passage that guides visitors inside.
This project incorporates the NEST design concept to the interior to provide a consistent feel and connection with the woven building exterior.
The luxurious entrance lounge which effectively employs waterscapes and lush greenery, gives a sense of continuity for visitors as it extends and reaches further into the building.
The interior design capitalizes on a monochromatic colour palette that contrasts against brass to create an accent against the blue and green carpeting which resonates with the landscape design.
The building opens into a dynamic space with a three-story vaulted ceiling which traces the large, elongated wall from the entrance. A stunning chandelier and bold staircase diagonally leading underground constructs a central interior which can be seen as the heart of the building.
The interior design three-dimensionally weaving together vertical and horizontal lines accomplishes enjoyably dynamic communal areas.
The Feeling deck and the Screen deck on the top floor provide spectacular views of the central cityscape and the Meiji-dori Avenue, creating a unique space to enjoy illuminated night views and the rich natural surroundings that extend beyond the building.
The interior design concept of the model rooms mirrors the architectural language of the building, expressing a concept of NEST that encapsulates warmth and comfort allowing for a dynamic and enjoyable panoramic view.
