In Valencia, Spain, we designed a small 10-room hostel nestled in a historic area with Arab heritage.
we decided to turn the inner center into a space of water and light, Inspired by its architectural heritage.
We propose a volumetry of 3 frontal components
two blocks contemplated for the rooms located to the sides, and in the center a sequence of passages formed by a succession of Arches.
which start from the street with a double-height arched portico, covering the entire route until reaching the entrance door.
Once inside the hostel, there is a small central courtyard, crossed by galleries that serve as corridors that connect the rooms on three floors (ground floor, first and second floor)
Hinting at the Arab heritage, a small water mirror was created in the central courtyard, where natural light merges with the water, reflecting the arches and the wonderful finish chosen for that stage, multiplying as Passages of Light that accompany the skirting of the balconies of the galleries or when climbing the steps of the stairs.
The intention of this space is to generate moments of contemplation, even when entering, it is this space that receives us as the foreground.
On the second floor are the two terraces for the use of guests, revaluing more than ever access to the outdoors, sky, sun and views of the street and city
