This 700sf building was designed for a young family as an exercise pavilion in their back yard. The primary feature is a compact swim-in-place pool (by ‘Endless Pools’) that allows the family year round fitness and enjoyment of simulated lap swimming, or just plain old fun for the kids. Nestled in a wooded dell behind the main house, the building creates a courtyard with its flanking volumes. A large sliding glass wall allows the pool room to be opened up during warmer months while during the long Nova Scotia winters, the expanse of glass floods the room with natural light and maintains the connection with the outside. In addition to the pool room, the building contains an exercise room, small bar, and a full guest room with ensuite.
