Completed for the New York City School Construction Authority, this new 650-seat school opened for students in September 2013. Located at Queens West, the new 93,000 sf school houses grades pre-K through 8 and has a full gymnasium, 300-seat auditorium, cafeteria, science labs, music and art rooms. Stretched along a window wall and overlooking a sun-filled play yard, its lobby also serves as an informal gathering place and gallery. The design is sustainable under New York City’s Green Schools Guidelines.
