Nestled in the heart of the forest overlooking Lake Saint-Joseph, this single-family residence aims to offer a permanent connection with the surrounding woodland. The project proposes a humble dialogue with the landscape through its colors and dimensions. It rises to the height of the treetops while seeking to root the building in its site.
The desire to feel constantly in contact with the surrounding nature justifies the generous fenestration, offering diverse framings of the site and numerous visual openings throughout the building. The H-shaped floor plan enhances the project’s harmonious integration with its environment while providing a sense of privacy for its inhabitants by creating distinct sub-spaces. The living spaces are located on the upper floor to offer a daily experience close to the trees and seamlessly extend onto two rooftop terraces, perfect for sunny evening gatherings.
The interior atmosphere, soft and enveloping, echoes the warm tones of the exterior materials that blend with the rocky terrain. The residence is intended as a natural extension of the site that hosts it, while contrasting with the verticality of the neighboring trees.
