Deyhim Garden, with an area of 4148 square meters, is located on the edge of Aqabozorgi Street, one of the main streets in the Farshid neighborhood of Tehran. In the garden, there are 440 fruit trees of various types, including apples, pears, and pomegranates, along with a small-scale building covering an area of 75 square meters located in the northeast corner. In the past years, the building has served various purposes, including hosting the offices of a publication, but for the last 30 years, the garden has remained unoccupied. The building has been converted into a caretaker's residence to meet the needs of the caretaker's family, undergoing some changes.
The Deyhim Cultural and Recreational Complex in Aqabozorgi Garden is divided into the following four sections:
Garden Landscape: Along a short path in the garden, what primarily catches attention is the diverse character of the trees in the garden. The decision was made to preserve the existing trees and connect different sections within the complex using lightweight paving, allowing visitors to move around the garden and framing the natural wonders of the garden with geometric elements.
Gallery: The gallery space, separate from the rest of the complex, is located in a more secluded corner and covers an area of 250 square meters. In designing the gallery, we aimed for a simple geometric volume that can incorporate the garden's trees. By creating a central open space within the volume, we framed the garden's trees in the plan. To separate the gallery space from other activities in the garden, the volume is divided into four stone sections, and a metal bridge connects the north and south sides of the site through the center of the gallery.
Annex to the Building: To provide additional spaces required for the cultural and recreational complex, including management, a restaurant, a cafe, cultural and educational spaces, and service areas, it was decided to use the existing building's capacity and the space relatively free of trees around it. A lightweight structure was added to the building to provide the necessary space for these functions.
Greenhouse and Flower Shop: The greenhouse space, due to its commercial use, is situated on the northwestern edge of the complex, adjacent to Darya Street, and has a separate entrance from the overall cultural and recreational complex.
