Riverwalk is a 45,000 square foot mixed use development on Basalt's historic main street, Midland Avenue. The rear of the project faces the Frying Pan River and a publicly accessed park. Brick buildings with commercial on the ground floor and residential above split in the middle to form an urban plaza that leads to the riverside park. Each building is broken down in scale to reinforce existing historic patterns further down the street. In a small amount of space between the street and storefront, A4 has accommodated walkways, ramps, railings and pillars, leaving room for planting areas and street lamps where the geometry changes.
