PBDW's design for expanding the Saginaw Art Museum embraces the 1904 Georgian mansion with symmetrical wings in glass and green copper. The two functions - exhibition space and education - frame the Italian garden at the rear and keep the Mansion at the center of the composition. The project won a 2005 New York AIA Merit Award and 2005 Michigan AIA Honor Award, as well as a 2004 American Architecture Award from the Chicago Athenaeum.
