This 141 square foot press box was created from a complex hybrid system of structural masonry, steel, and pre-fabricated wood trusses was used to ensure that the necessary site lines were maintained and to provide for rooftop video access on game days. To promote reduced energy usage, operable windows and a wrap around wood screen at the stairwell produce cross ventilation, mitigating the need for electric cooling. The interior is finished with white oak wood floors and birch plywood wall panels. An interior cove light doubles as a horizontal brace for one of the prefabricated wood trusses. m ARCHITECTS was honored with a 2008 AIA Design Award in the Architecture Category for it’s attention to detail.
