Skåvsjöholm, Hotel and conference in the Stockholm archipelago.
The newly renovated bar at Skåvsjöholm Hotell & Konferens in Åkersberga is inspired by the archipelago, with the sea and nature ever present.
Inspired by the pine trees along the waterfront and the surrounding environment, Kanozi Arkitekter's interior designers have created a warm and inviting atmosphere that interacts with the building's unique history. Designed by Danish architect Carl R. Fredriksen in the early 1960s, the building retains many period features such as brick walls and black slate floors.
The former bar was in need of modernization, and the renovation has combined classic elements with a uniform design. To emphasize the character of the space, the dark brick walls are painted in a lighter tone and wood paneling and wallpaper are added to selected walls.
The bar was moved and redesigned to improve both flow and function. The new bar was made of wood with a brass top that will patina beautifully over time. A new wooden floor was laid in the bar area to tie the whole together.
The color palette is inspired by the exposed rock wall of the venue where warm and earthy tones highlight the beauty of Swedish nature. The new lighting concept enhances that feeling and allows for different scenarios and atmospheres, giving the bar a flexible and atmospheric environment.
Skåvsjöholm's new bar is a place where history, nature and modern design meet - a tribute to the archipelago and its timeless charm.
