The Bodhi court area has a large existing Bodhi tree standing in the middle. It represents the existence of nature that has been addressed in this institute for a long time which is an important symbol. But the layout of the surrounding area looked dilapidated and uncomfortable to use. The design team aimed to improve this area into a public space that can accommodate a variety of uses. Create a perfect connection between people and nature.
Tree preservation is the main concept in this area. The existing Bodhi tree has a deep and complex root system. So our team focused on developing a hardscape that would not affect tree roots. The details are carefully designed so that the roots can co-exist with the improved area in balance.
