The new Strata Wynwood mixed-use residential building is the latest addition to the Wynwood Arts District in Miami, FL. The Wynwood neighborhood is known for its restaurants, galleries, lofts and more, resulting in this development engaging the community and bringing culture and vitality to the neighborhood. The 12-story building features 257 residential units, artist studios, three floors of office space, street-level retail, and 474 parking spaces.
Stantec provided architecture, structural engineering, and landscape architecture as part of the project. Connections to the surrounding Wynwood neighborhood were used to enhance the experience. A portion of the building’s exterior is surrounded by large vertical screened panels portraying artwork from local artists. The largest of the panels is 56 feet tall. The largest panel will connect to the entrance with numerous sculptures and connects pedestrians from North Miami Avenue to an internal street and series of artist studios. While the exterior artistic panels serve to increase the ascetics of the building, the panels provide function as natural ventilation and conceal the attached parking garage.
The development has eight stories of residential units, including one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Additional 2,500 square feet of space for artist to work and 60,300 square feet of offices spaces. Halfway up the building is a large amenity deck that is landscaped with foliage, outdoor pool, open-air movie theater, and outdoor bar with fire pit. Other amenities of the project, in coordination with the project’s interior designer, Unison Group, include a game room, clubroom, steam rooms, collaborative and private workspaces, business center, conference rooms, and a soundproof room for music and voice training.
