Simple lines, soft shapes, warm colours — and nothing extra. The main accent of the space is a large brown sofa on the podium, which extends all the way to the kitchen — so we hid the radiators from the developer without dismantling and re-equipping the system. The composition is complemented by a duo of Moooi tables in the colour of wet clay. Built-in shelves hold small representatives of art toys Kaws and ceramic Dido, which were inspired by Ukrainian traditions.
The black and white kitchen has become a background for textured design details. Almost all the dishes are handmade in Serhii Makhno’s ceramic workshop. MAKIVKA lamps in the white glaze on the outside and hot gold on the inside hover above the bar. In 2019, this model of design lamps by MAKHNO Studio was presented at the first independent Ukrainian stand of the international design exhibition iSaloni in Milan, Italy.
On the first floor, there is an area for guests who decided to stay here a little longer. The guest bedroom has a private bathroom hidden in a glass box. Warm shades visually enlarge the space and make guests feel at home.
The stairs leading to the second floor of TEPLA are made of triplex glass — they are so transparent that very few will dare to take a step. The construction development took a lot of time, but to realize the wanted design, we will do everything.
There is no door in the master bedroom, but there is Flos designer lighting, Kelsis concrete plasters, and a wall covered with Tetrapods by Makhno. But again — no door. To achieve the levitation effect for the Tetrapod ceramic tile panel, we designed several layers of plywood and illuminated the wall with special track lighting, similar to a gallery one.
The bathroom has lots of air, light, and warm details. All plumbing came from the Italian brand Cristina. And the pale pink PIVOT lamps by MAKHNO were made in this colour exclusively for the TEPLA apartment.
