The Striphouse is a proposal for a 100,000 SF mixed-use retail and residential development, including 80 market-rate luxury condominium units, part of a large-scale redevelopment of the southern edge riverfront of the Allegheny River in the formerly Industrial Strip District in Pittsburgh. At over 400 feet in length, the Striphouse is complimentary yet deferential to the iconic 16th Street Bridge, one of Pittsburgh’s great industrial-era relics. It reinforces the attenuated gridiron of the neighborhood, and creates a defined edge for the public promenade and green space at the water’s edge, a dynamic “living and viewing” platform for the Striphouse residents.
