The Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Center

The development includes a 30-story convention hotel tower with 311 guestrooms. Convention facilities are contained in a four-level podium which includes 10 meeting rooms, a 19,000 SF ballroom with pre-function spaces, a spa with a heated indoor pool, and back-of-house areas. A five-level basement provides 738 parking spaces with direct elevator access to the lobby and conference rooms.
The Westin hotel is located in one of the most prominent sites in the city, within the San Isidro Business Center, in close proximity to two major expressways. Eighty percent of the most important buildings are situated within a one kilometer radius. The tower offers unobstructed views to the Pacific Ocean and to the surrounding mountains.
Measuring 387 feet in height, at the time of construction, it is the tallest structure in Peru. In addition to the hotel it has South America’s largest conference and banquet hall; it can hold up to 2,000 people and has independent escalators. It’s the tallest tower in Lima but it is also very slender for its height. The facilities include: two restaurants; the largest spa in Lima, with a temperate pool, hydrotherapy area, yoga and exercise area, among other features; and a junior ballroom. On the fourth floor, the large conference room permits natural light (an uncommon characteristic) and two terraces that allow for expansion of events.
The shape seen from the outside is transparent, like a crystal prism, almost organic in shape. Highly thermal, semi-reflective glass protects the building from changes in the external temperature. Glass used in the building’s corners captures light and makes it descend like a cascade down to the base of the hotel. The hotel changes personality as one enters, which is part of the interior impact as it becomes warmer through use of wood and natural stone.
