"With a height of over 460m, this will be the tallest building in Vietnam. The 81 floors will contain a
five star Vinpearl hotel in the upper portion. But unusually for such a tall tower, the predominant
function will be residential. The 241,000 sq.m project as a whole also includes extensive retail
in its podium and basement. At the very top of the tower will be a public observation deck and
exhibition space.
The design concept is based on a bundle of square tubes that progressively diminish in number to
offer the tower?s bold spire like form. These bundles both reflect the structural system and respond
to the function of the tower. The many resultant roof terraces are enjoyed by the larger apartments
and hotel bedrooms, as well as the hotel?s many bars and restaurants. The concept also recalls
the common Vietnamese adage that a single stick is not as strong as a bundle of sticks. This is
traditionally used in relation to encouraging team spirit and family values. But it can also be applied
to Vincom, whose corporate structure is made up of a group of divisions, each working in different sectors but all striving towards the same goals."
